Short-form videos, such as TikToks and Instagram Reels, are changing the future of social media. In this panel discussion, we will explore the significance of this format, share examples of effective social media videos, and discuss how to get started making content in a new, fun way!

As the social media manager for UT in the Office of Communications and Marketing, Carrie Mills oversees the strategy and develops content for UT Knoxville’s official social media accounts. MIlls has experience working in marketing, communications, and management in the nonprofit and higher education sectors. She loves finding creative ways to tell stories and to highlight the many ways UT impacts our community, and social media is the perfect avenue to do that in a fun, fresh, and inventive way!

Bukky Abdul

Bukky Abdul

Center for Career Development and Academic Exploration

In her role at the Center for Career Development and Academic Exploration at UT, Bukky Abdul coaches students interested in the art, media, communications, design, hospitality, and tourism industries. She earned her Bachelor of Science in communication from Covenant University in Nigeria and her Master of Science in human resources administration from Central Michigan University. She serves on the center’s marketing committee and recently started managing its social media accounts.


Hayden Antal

College of Communication and Information

Hayden Antal was a member of the Office of Communications and Marketing’s video production team for five years, where he worked on projects ranging from social content to the Super Bowl halftime commercial that played on national television. He started a new role earlier this year as the multimedia communications specialist at the College of Communication and Information, where he gets to practice a much more broad approach to communications. Antal does photography, videography, design, and social media for the college and says he loves the expanded set of responsibilities.

Jason Moody

Jason Moody

Center for Global Engagement

Jason Moody is the communications specialist at the Center for Global Engagement. He supports six units in his role, such as the Programs Abroad Office, the International House, and the Office of Asia Engagement. Moody’s work includes website maintenance and design, content creation and development, social media, graphic design, and email marketing as well as managing a team of student assistants and interns.
