Photography

Great photography tells great stories.

The Office of Communications and Marketing provides photographic services to meet the needs of university offices through a library of university stock photography, a studio headshot service, and custom photography for selected projects. To learn more about brand guidance for photography, see the brand website.

Photo Library

A wide array of general campus shots are available to faculty and staff through the university’s Asset Bank photo library. This database of photos is searchable by keyword and includes campus buildings and scenics, academics and research, student life, etc. Faculty and staff who need full access to the database can request an account. Talk with a communications professional in your department or college, or request an account here.

Headshots

Headshots will be closed Tuesday, March 19.

Studio headshots are for UT Knoxville permanent faculty and staff only (we do not have the capacity to photograph student workers) and created in our studio in 91 Communications Building on Tuesdays from 9:00 to 11:00 am. These headshots will be on a first come first serve basis. We ask that departments do not send more than 5 people at a time to help with congestion.

Please check this page for updates before attending any headshot session.

You may also visit the professional photo booth in the Center for Career Development & Academic Exploration. You can find out more information about this service here:  https://studentsuccess.utk.edu/career/students/develop-career-tools/professional-photo-booth/

For questions about accessibility or to request accommodations, call 865-974-0765. Advance notice of need for accommodations is requested.

Custom Photography

Custom photography is provided for documenting university-wide events, major marketing initiatives, and other projects handled through the Office of Communications and Marketing. For smaller-scale projects and events, it is recommended that units arrange for a freelance photographer.
