In April 2022, the Office of Communications and Marketing worked with agency partner MP&F to survey Tennessee households and businesses to measure opinions and perceptions of the university across the state. MP&F Partner and UT alumnus Knight Stivender and members of the agency team will present top-line findings from the surveys and discuss the opportunities we have to continue to improve the university’s reputation among Tennesseans.

Knight Stivender is a data-driven and award-winning marketer, veteran agency leader and former reporter. She now is a partner at MP&F Strategic Communications—the largest integrated, independent agency in Tennessee. Knight has more than 25 years of experience driving innovation that has helped companies acquire customers, engage audiences, and inspire stakeholders across multiple media channels. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, she was the recipient of the school’s prestigious Alumna of the Year award in 2016.

Jennifer Lanier

At MP&F Strategic Communications, Jennifer Lanier uses data and technology in conjunction with the marketing and data team to identify opportunities and solve problems across their portfolio of clients. With a background in information technology and marketing, she has worked with national and regional brands such as the US Department of Labor’s Job Corps, Solstice Senior Living, National HealthCare Corporation, Urgent Team, KinderCare Learning Centers, and Harley Davidson Financial Services. A native of Crossville, Tennessee, Lanier has a bachelor’s degree in finance and a Master of Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University.

Alex Ryan graduated from the University of Tampa in 2012 and spent multiple years analyzing data and prescribing strategic solutions for multiple local, state, and national campaigns across the United States. Now at MP&F Strategic Communications, he supports a variety of clients using his knowledge of platforms—such as Excel, Python, SQL, Tableau, and Google Data Studio—to find actionable insights that help support decision-makers.
