WUOT

Radio that sings a different tune.

91.9 WUOT LogoSoaring through the airwaves for more than half a century, WUOT 91.9 FM—the area’s only National Public Radio (NPR) member station—is an important cultural and informational community resource.

WUOT is among UT’s most visible and respected services. Each week, more than 70,000 listeners throughout East Tennessee and parts of four surrounding states tune in to our news, classical music, jazz, and entertainment programming.

In addition to providing well-known network favorites such as Morning Edition and Car Talk, our award-winning news department delivers local and regional stories—many involving university efforts—with thoughtfulness and depth. We spread our wings and began offering podcasts to listeners in 2005, and our signal streams on the web at wuot.org.

Though WUOT is licensed to the university, listener support provides more than one-third of the station’s annual budget. Our listeners are special: Studies show that public radio listeners are more educated, affluent, and interested in learning new things than the general population—making them the perfect audience for UT programs and events. Reaching our listeners is easy and cost-effective: Underwriting WUOT programming increases visibility for your programs and strengthens your reputation among our audience members—because you’re supporting a station they themselves support. We also sponsor a variety of campus events, and provide public service announcements and other forms of community service.

Our capabilities and services include:

+ NPR and other national programming
+ Local and regional news and music programs
+ Underwriting, sponsorships, and community partnerships to raise visibility for your programs
