The saying that a picture is worth a thousand words has been overused. But the truth remains: It’s hard for words to beat a powerful image in capturing spirit, emotion, and excitement. Images make our imaginations take flight.
The Video & Photography Center at the University
of Tennessee, Knoxville, serves the university’s
educational and promotional needs, as well as those of government, businesses, and organizations of
all sorts.
In the arena of still photography, we shoot primarily with digital cameras in a wide range of environments—from studio settings to the classroom to outdoor action. Our team documents everyday life on campus as well as special events.
We also maintain an archive of university photographs spanning a variety of subjects across
several decades.
Through “moving pictures,” we reach even more people with university messages. In our studio, we direct specialized UT projects, ranging from orientation and marketing videos to interview-format coaches’ shows. We provide satellite uplinks of news and sports for all major network and news organizations.
UTTV is one of our newest and most exciting projects. Offered through Comcast Digital® on channel 194 and campus cable on channel 65, UTTV provides news, entertainment, and public affairs programming. Innovative and dedicated to the university, UTTV has tremendous future potential. Among our offerings is Campus Conversations.
